MEMORY VERSE #4

PSALM 40:17

Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.

Dear Lord,
You know my needs and my afflictions, please Lord show yourself GREAT in my life today!

Amen.

MATTHEW 18: 19-20

Today I begin a new scripture memory verse. I am so excited that I have now learned two scriptures and am starting a 3rd one. I'm so thankful to Beth Moore for her encouragment and doable solution in learning Scripture. Now here is my new verse:

"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matthew 18: 19-20

I also want to post about how I am learning scripture. My method of learning my scripture verse is by writing out my verse 25 x's each day during the 14 days in between selecting a new verse. This is working very well for me. Although my hands get tired, I keep perserving because I believe with all my heart that this is pleasing to God and He is the one who gave me this idea from a part of my childhood.

Anyway, I pray that God will be glorified and that my heart and mind will be renewed and fruitful through this spiritual discipline.

18 Days into 2009

.......and this is what I have been up too:
  • Dropped off my two cute neices in Atlanta who visited with us over the Christmas holidays and Victor and I visited with his mom and my mother-in-law. It was a fun time!
  • Decided to join Beth Moore and other Siesta's in memorizing Scripture this year. I'm on my second memory verse...YEAH!!! (Isaiah 33:6 and Colossians 2: 5-6)
  • Our family welcomed a new puppy into our home on Saturday, Jan. 17th. His name is Captain Crunch and his nickname is "Cappy". He is a pomerainean (solid black and the cutest thing) We love him so much already. Also we have five cats that live with us as well...(Domino, Gandaughf, Michelle, Mindy and Maggie). I'm the cat lover of the family.
  • Went to sewing class this past Thursday night. I am so excited to get back to learning this fun and challenging skill. I hope to be able to use this skill alot in the future.
  • Have gotten a slow start in getting back to a regular schedule....hope this week I will be able to do that.
  • Went to a SPA Night at my friend Anna's house. It was for mother and daughter(s). All three of my daughters got to go with me and all three of them booked their own SPA NIGHT to share with their friends and their mothers. I get to have three special nights for the next three months!!!!
  • Have been working on bookkeeping year end stuff for my husband's company. Almost done with that and this is good!!!!
  • Have been enjoying cooking in my new Richard Simmon's Steam Cooker. I never realized steamed food could taste soooooo good. Thanks Mom for introducing me to my new friend!
  • Shared a fun day of fellowship with four other families today. It started at 2 p.m. and ended at about 8 p.m.
  • Have just posted my 1st blog for 2009!
  • Lastly, I have been enjoying God's presence with me each day. Thank you Jesus! May my love for YOU grow more each day in 2009!

Love,

Kathleen

H.O.P.E.

I received the Lifeway Christmas catalog flyer in the mail today. While I was admiring all the pretty home decorations that are on sale, I began thinking of acrostics to what I saw. JOY has been a favorite word of mine for several years now (Jesus, Others, Yourself) so.... here is my acrostic for HOPE.. (He Offers People Eternity). I just absolutely LOVE that!!! Oh how precious is our Father who sent His ONLY son to die for us, to give us the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. I can't wait to see Jesus face to face someday and to thank Him personally for dying for my sins and thank Him for conquering death, hell and the grave to redeem a sinner like me! PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD!!! I pray people will take what He paid such a high price to offer them before it's too late. Thank you God for putting this thought in my mind!
I love you Jesus. :>)

Weekend Recap!

This weekend we have had a couple of fun family get together's with some of our Homeschool friends. Friday night, 10/10/08 - we met at Lakeland Presbyterian Church for the CHEB Back-To-School Kick-off. It was a lot of fun to fellowship and enjoy great food with our friends from CHEB. The kids really had a great time together. Saturday was a relaxing day for the most part and Sunday was wonderful because we went to worship at 9:30 and I served with the Toddler class at 11 a.m. After church, we met at the Ates home for Sunday Lunch and fellowship with the Sharp's and the Gaughf family. It was so enjoyable getting together with them which made for a great end to our weekend. My heart has been blessed from the sweet fellowship with my family and friends!
