SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #19

I'm so thankful I received my verse before today actually came! Thank you Lord. May I trust YOU at ALL times! You are my refuge.

Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

Psalm 62:8 (NASB)

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE # 17

This is a scripture that I want to use from reading Beth Moore's Praying God's Word.

Isaiah 61:3

To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Thank you Lord for your Word. May it bring refreshment to my soul. Amen.

SOMETHING GOOD

James Madison, the Father of the Constitution (Yes, I've been reading up on American Government in Homeschool) realized that a good government was impossible apart from morality and virtue among the citizenry. At the Virginia Convention which assembled to ratify the new U.S. Constitution, he stated the following : "I go on this great republican principle, that the people will have virtue and intelligence to select men of virtue and wisdom. Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation."

I think this is good and thus I wanted to post it here!

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #16

Sunday, August 16, 2009

I'm a day late, but better late than never I suppose!

Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #15

I did not chose a scripture for August 1st. But, I wanted to record that here, so that, I could keep it all straight and that I could see and remember what order I'm suppose to be on!

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #14

I did chose a memory verse for July 15 and wrote it in my spiral index card book. However, July became very overwhelming for me with too much stuff going on that I missed out on making the time to study this scripture and commit it to memory. But I still wanted to post it here anyways.

"Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Matthew 26: 41
NASB

Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #12

My prayer today! Lord, please help me remain steadfast in memorizing scripture. I want to know YOU and LOVE YOU more! Please help me live out these verses so that you will be glorified. I ask this in Jesus name and believing You for it. Amen.

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I Corinthians 13: 4-7 (NASB)

MATTHEW 18: 19-20

Today I begin a new scripture memory verse. I am so excited that I have now learned two scriptures and am starting a 3rd one. I'm so thankful to Beth Moore for her encouragment and doable solution in learning Scripture. Now here is my new verse:

"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matthew 18: 19-20

I also want to post about how I am learning scripture. My method of learning my scripture verse is by writing out my verse 25 x's each day during the 14 days in between selecting a new verse. This is working very well for me. Although my hands get tired, I keep perserving because I believe with all my heart that this is pleasing to God and He is the one who gave me this idea from a part of my childhood.

Anyway, I pray that God will be glorified and that my heart and mind will be renewed and fruitful through this spiritual discipline.
