PSALM 50 AND A NEW YEAR TO BEGIN AGAIN!

Where do I begin? I think Psalm 50: 23 is a great beginning to start with, so here it goes, "He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God."
I'm so glad to be leaving the year 2009 behind and starting anew with 2010!

Right now Lord, I offer you what I have, and that is, I'm thankful for Your Word from Isaiah 33:6 that I began memorizing and claiming at the beginning of 2009. I didn't really know at that time, how much I would come to lean on that scripture as a source of strength throughout this past year and that I will continue to lean on it in 2010! Lord You are and will continue to be the stability of my time, You will continue to be a wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge to me and Lord I know that the fear of the Lord truly is my treasure. There is nothing else Lord that I can truly depend on.

I surely do not know what the future holds, but I know that You know. And I know that Your Will, will be done on earth as it is in Heaven and I thank You for that.

My last thing I want to share today is this beautiful Scripture I read this morning that brought my thoughts to try to imagine and take in this scene.

Psalm 48:1-2 says:
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
In the city of our God,
His holy mountain.
Beautiful in elevation,
the joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion in the far north,
The city of the great King.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever!

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #19

I'm so thankful I received my verse before today actually came! Thank you Lord. May I trust YOU at ALL times! You are my refuge.

Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

Psalm 62:8 (NASB)

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE # 17

This is a scripture that I want to use from reading Beth Moore's Praying God's Word.

Isaiah 61:3

To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Thank you Lord for your Word. May it bring refreshment to my soul. Amen.

SOMETHING GOOD

James Madison, the Father of the Constitution (Yes, I've been reading up on American Government in Homeschool) realized that a good government was impossible apart from morality and virtue among the citizenry. At the Virginia Convention which assembled to ratify the new U.S. Constitution, he stated the following : "I go on this great republican principle, that the people will have virtue and intelligence to select men of virtue and wisdom. Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation."

I think this is good and thus I wanted to post it here!

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #16

Sunday, August 16, 2009

I'm a day late, but better late than never I suppose!

Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18
NASB

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #15

I did not chose a scripture for August 1st. But, I wanted to record that here, so that, I could keep it all straight and that I could see and remember what order I'm suppose to be on!

SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE #14

I did chose a memory verse for July 15 and wrote it in my spiral index card book. However, July became very overwhelming for me with too much stuff going on that I missed out on making the time to study this scripture and commit it to memory. But I still wanted to post it here anyways.

"Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Matthew 26: 41
NASB
